Visit the V&A and explore the rich and varied culture of South Asia, both past and present. The V&A India Festival marks the 25th anniversary of the opening of the Museum’s Nehru Gallery, which displays some of the most important objects from the V&A’s South Asian art collection.
The highlight of the V&A India Festival, The Fabric of India is the first major exhibition to explore the dynamic and multifaceted world of handmade textiles from India. From a stunning range of historic costume and highly prized textiles for international trade to cutting-edge fashion by celebrated Indian designers. Bejewelled Treasures: The Al Thani Collection presents over 100 spectacular items of Indian and Indian-inspired jewellery, including precious jewels of breath-taking quality, exquisite enamelling and bejewelled ornaments.
Win a pair of tickets to both must-see exhibitions plus the official exhibition catalogues exploring the making, design, and use of textiles from the Indian subcontinent and the broader themes of tradition and modernity in Indian jewellery.
You’ll also win a Good Earth India Ganges Copper Jug, designed with the aim of providing traditional wellness products in a modern context. Plus a Kutch Clutch Bag, from the V&A Shop’s Fabric of India range, made from fabric that has been taken from vintage tunics and skirts in the Kutch region of India, and finished with hand embroidery and mirror work.
